I am seeing exactly the same problem Worse though, it’s causing any page with Amazon links to display no content at all -a 500 error. Could you please publish the fix you came up with for the other Scott?

Since last week I’m seeing this error message in the plug-in’s Settings page:

Warning: Quick Links and Product Searches are disabled. To enable please enter your valid AWS Access and Secret Keys

Consequently some pages are linking through to the Amazon homepage, rather than the product page. And any page this occurs on is returning a 500 Error – causing all of the content to not display on the page.

Help!

Anyone else having the problem of the AWS Access Key and Secret Key not validating any more?

Hi Matt

I’m having a problem with the link shortcode not working for some ASINs. Doing some basic debugging I see that Amazon returns:
“B000VKJEBK is not a valid value for ItemId. Please change this value and retry your request.”

However, if I modify the AmazonProduct::link function so that it includes AmazonProduct_ResponseGroup::ITEM_ATTRIBUTES as the response group, it works and Amazon returns the correct info.

I’m not sure if this is a bug with the plugin or on Amazon’s side, but I presume there’s no harm in me modifying the link function to include the ITEM_ATTRIBUTES response group when it makes a request?

John, when you enable “Locale Viewing for Administrators” in the Admin options the plugin will set the locale to the selected “view as” locale when you view a page of your website when logged in as an Administrator. There is a bug with WordPress where this feature does not work for all users. I have it as a to-do to modify the plugin to correct the bug in a future release.

Gerrit, I finally got some time to work on the plugin and adding the Spanish Associate locale is on top of my list of upgrades. I hope to release a new version next week with support.
